Iowa State University Research and Demonstration Farms contain many unique natural areas and conservation practices but awareness of these areas among researchers and educators at Iowa State is limited. This project aimed to bridge that gap using a web application to help researchers and educators locate and utilize these features. On this application, we wanted to highlight natural areas, conservation practices, and contact information.
I have worked with many farm managers to classify natural areas and locate conservation practices. This required a lot of time out on the farms. I learned a lot about communicating with landowners and working together with them. I hope for this project to be used by ISU researchers and educators to help answer research questions and educate future students.
