Identification of Spores Produced by Disease-Causing Fungi on Lonicera caerulea

Honeyberry (Lonicera caerulea) is a fruit-producing woody shrub gaining popularity in Iowa for its cold hardiness and tolerance of slightly acidic/neutral soils. This project aims to characterize morphology of conidia (asexually produced spores) from fungal species that carry disease affecting L. caerulea, to confirm the genetic species level identification.
